Giovanni Cristina

Giovanni Cristina has been a researcher [RTD-A] in Contemporary History at the University of Genoa since June 2021, when he joined ANTIGONE project as head of Archival research (WP1). He is a member of the management board of the CIR-Laboratory of Archaeology and Environmental History (LASA, University of Genoa) and also teaches Contemporary History and Environmental History at the same university. He graduated in Contemporary History in 2006 at the University of Bologna and since 2010 he has been PhD in Modern History (University of Catania). Between 2014 and 2015 he was Marie Curie Fellow at the CRH of the EHESS (Paris), staying in the same institution for another two years (2016-2017) as a postdoc researcher. His research topics concern environmental, urban and territorial history, with particular attention to the processes of modernisation in Mediterranean Europe in the 19th and 20th centuries. He is author of  2 monographs and of several national and international publications in journals and books.
