Agustín Sánchez García has been a PhD Student as part of the ANTIGONE project at the Department of Antiquities, Philosophy and History (University of Genoa) from November 2020 to April 2022. He previously obtained his degree in History and his master in Archaeology from the University of Granada (Spain). The main topic of his research has focused on the study of the Alpujarra region (Granada) in the medieval Islamic period, as well as on the study, recovery and dissemination of the rural heritage existing in this territory. The thesis developed within the framework of the ANTIGONE project aimed to investigate the changes produced in the environmental resources of Sierra Nevada (Granada) between the 18th and 21st centuries, combining various sources, such as survey archaeology, historical cartography, oral sources and archival documentation.
